Being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe events, ABC’s “Agents of SHIELD” has always featured a tie-in to the films. Every time a new Marvel chapter hits theaters, fans look forward to it being mentioned on “Agents of SHIELD.” The upcoming Marvel picture, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is no less, Entertainment Weekly reports on Tuesday.
Marvel fans remember the huge connection between “Captain America: The Winter Solider” and “Agents of SHIELD.” After all, it was all about SHIELD agents secretly being HYDRA. A small crossover was included with “Thor: The Dark World,” so maybe it will be something along those lines.
Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will arrive to theaters on May 1, 2015. It is the 11th chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. In an exclusive interview with executive producer Jed Whedon, he officially revealed that the ABC series will connect to “Age of Ultron.” Whedon says, “You should expect something. Jackson, and more.
“Agents of SHIELD” airs on Tuesdays on ABC. The series will premiere episode 9, “What They Become,” of Season 2 tonight. It’s the last episode of the year, “Agents of SHIELD” will continue its second season on March 3, 2015. ‘The Avengers’ is the big tent that all the franchises play under. The tie-in with “Age of Ultron” won’t be as significant as “The Winter Solider,” but it will still play a part.
